We all alt-tab. Or rather, many of us do. Whether it’s during raid explanations or even boss fights, many of us are guilty of leaving the game to look at something else, for whatever reason. Most classes can get away with it–except for healers. Because it’s very obvious when the tank dies.
I was in normal CoS tonight on Prialeson, healing, and was VERY bored. So I alt-tabbed for just a few seconds. Then I alt-tabbed back. Tank at 78%. Ok, fine, I’ll toss a Holy Shock. Wait, how are you at 55%? Flash of Light. Flash of LIGHT! I said FLASH OF LIGHT! ZOMFG HOLY LIGHT! *tank dies* The tank goes “No heals?” and I go “I kept pressing the button but nothing happened!”
>.> What seems to have happened was that I alt-tabbed back, but smart Vista didn’t set me inside the screen (I play windowed) and so my commands seem to not have registered…luckily the mob had 8% health left, and evasion tanking by rogues still works, so I just rezzed him before the boss, and paid extra close attention to him during the boss fight. I’ll be damned if I let him go down below 80%. I don’t want a bad rep. People talk about you in trade. And by “you” I mean right now mostly Cefka, Pernod, and Scrye, but I didn’t feel like getting added to that list.
Careful when you alt-tab, you just might die.
