I’ve wanted to bubble-heal for the longest time. It just seems like so much fun, and after doing the rather monotonous healing of a paladin for a while, I really wanted to go to something more complex. I toyed with the idea of a druid, but my guild was in more desperate need of priests, so I started leveling one. Now that my guild has left the server, I’m stuck with this priestess that I still really want to level…so I am. The only problem is that she’s squishy–a lot of me wants to say squishier than my mage when I was leveling him.
Also, she’s an easy target. Rogues and hunters absolutely *love* to obliterate her while she’s questing. Over the weekend, I was trying to level her in Ganksbrad. Suddenly, out of nowhere, this level 28 rogue comes up behind me and saps me, trying to attack my level 22 self. I actually managed to get him down to about 30% before he finished me off–and really, I might have beat his sorry ass if my low level hadn’t aggroed more of those damned syndicates. But I shrugged it off–I’m on an RPPVP server, and PvP happens. He had his fun killing me once. Great.
So when I came back, I rezzed and sat down to eat and drink. And saw a huge big crit flash on my screen and in two hits I was down. I was angry, but not unreasonable. Silly me–why rez mere moments after he kills you? Of course he’ll stick around in the area. He’s Alliance, a night elf, severely outlevels me, and has a class advantage! I wait a few minutes and then come back…and BOOM! I’m dead again.
My response?
I log onto my mage, port to Undercity, fly to Tarren Mill, and Arcane Explosion my way through the Syndicate hideout, killing everything so she can do her damned quest. Oh look, that level 28 rogue? Aw, how cute, you thought you could stealth away from me? FIRE BLAST BITCH!
Ok, so what he did was kind of unfair, and my response might have been *severely* unfair, but you know what? I don’t care. I was able to go through the level without hindrance, get the keys, free the prisoners, and leave. Oh wait, more mobs are respawning? Cool. Log out, hop on my mage, clear them, see the rogue, FIRE BLAST FUCKER, log onto my priest, and skip out unscathed.
Later, I’m in Ashenvale and I’m trying to do an escort quest. Everything is going according to plan when all of a sudden, the stupid bear pulls 3 extra mobs. They didn’t spawn. He chased after one and pulled 3 more. And so I died. Not wanting to repeat that, I got back on my mage, cleared the entire area, then rezzed, got on my priest again, and did the escort without incident.
If you think I’m above using my mage to make my quests easier for the rest of her leveling experience, you are sorely mistaken. There is nothing I hate more than trying to do a quest and having far too many mobs aggro and kill me. I’ve gotten two toons up to level 80, and I’ll be damned if I have to suffer again because Blizzard wants to make leveling “fun.” Let it be known that if you try to gank my priest even once, I have no qualms fucking you up and camping your sorry ass. PvP ≠ Ganking. If you are withing a 3-4 level range, I’ll be ok. 5 or more and you’re just a pansy who can’t even kill mobs your own level without dying and you’re trying to re-enlarge your epeen.
